Let it Snow!

Well, here it is...the first "real" snow of the season! It is still coming down, and WeatherBug is predicting 4-7" of the fun stuff. The kids are so excited, and they are looking forward to making snow angels, snowmen, forts, etc. I'm looking forward to all of the good old-fashioned exercise they will get playing out there, sloshing through the snow and burning up some of that little kid energy! I only let them play on the deck unless Eric goes out with them, then they have almost an acre of yard to play in, since our neighbor sold and moved his house out. We are almost all by ourselves out here! ;-)

Second Snow!

It snowed about 2-3" this time, and the kids had fun making a snow fort in the back yard. They especially loved having Daddy to help them, since he had all of today off! We are looking forward to many more days of creative winter fun!

First Snow

It snowed a little bit last night and this morning! Not only is this the first snow of the season, but it is also the first snow that Sam can really play in and enjoy! He probably doesn't remember the snow from earlier this year when he was only about 15 or 16 months old. The snow mostly collected on our deck, so I let the kids play in it for a little while. We haven't even put away our grill yet, so it is in some of the pictures. It seems like winter is already pouncing on us...are we ready?

Sam kept saying over and over again: "It's snow! It's snow!"

Here are the girls, all bundled up!

Christy attempted to make a "Snow Angel" in the 1/2" of snow on the deck! ;-)

Becca took her turn at making another Snow Angel!

Sam thought that it looked like his sisters were having fun, so he gave it a try!

As you can see, the grass is still green, and the snow looks out of place!

Saturday Snow Forts!

You'll never believe it, but it got up to 40 degrees today! The snow was perfect for making snow forts, so Eric and the girls brushed up on their architectural skills and went at it.

Here is Christy holding up a frozen "acorn" since they were in "Squirrel Ice Kingdom".

Here is a view from outside the "Castle". As you can see, the sun was really bright today!

Here is Becca trying to figure out what Christy was building...it turned out to be an ice shelf to hold the frozen "acorns".

Babysitting Lambs

We're babysitting our friends' lambs to see if this is a direction we might like to go with our little farm. We'll be producing ...
