Easter Outfits
It has taken me a while to find a way to download pictures to our laptop, since our main PC is in storage now. The memory card in our camera won't connect directly to any port in the laptop, so I had to find a device that would do the trick. Finally, I can start sharing photos again! Here is a picture of the kids in their Easter outfits last Sunday. Of course, I couldn't get them to all smile and look at the camera at the same time! We are all discombobulated from the move, and we're just trying to maintain the status quo until we get settled in our new place!

Tea Party for our Ten-year-old!
Christy had been asking for months to have a tea party for her birthday. I wasn't sure if I could pull off such an event at my house in my current condition, so I asked my sister-in-law, Julie, to host the party. She did a wonderful job, and made it fun and special for everyone! We all enjoyed the tea, and Julie made an incredibly delicious cherry cobbler that makes me hungry even now while I'm writing about it! ;-) I'm still amazed that my first "baby" is already 10...where does the time go? She is growing up, but thankfully not TOO fast...she still asked for some sweet girlhood toys and dolls. Christy actually had quite a long birthday this week, starting on Wednesday with opening gifts and cards until the party on Friday. She loved everything that she received...thanks to all family and friends who helped to make her birthday special!

4-D Ultrasound
Here are some scans of the twins from my 4-D Ultrasound on Friday. They were 19 weeks at the time of this scan. 4-D Ultrasounds give a better full-body representation of the babies, but they aren't an "exact copy" of what the babies really look like. It is more of an impression, so they will look a little strange and lumpy, but I think they are still cute! The ultrasound showed that they are perfectly formed, with no physical problems, other than a minor size discrepancy and the abnormal fluid levels. I have another ultrasound today to check fluid levels since the procedure, and hopefully they are still within the normal range. The procedure I had to go through was not pleasant, and I do not wish to repeat it. I hope they learned their lesson and will start sharing equally! ;-)

Imagining
I took pictures of both of my boys this morning, and noticed how their features are so similar, yet so different! I am trying to imagine what the twin boys will look like. Will they have darker hair and brown eyes like Daniel? Or, will they have lighter hair and blue (or green!) eyes like Samuel or the girls? I'm already ready to meet the twins and find out who they look like! ;-)

More BOYS!!
I had my ultrasound yesterday, and found out that we are having more boys! The twins were nice enough to cooperate with the technician so that we could easily tell. They were quite active during the procedure, and it was difficult to get a good picture of them. The technician was frustrated because she kept trying to get them in the right position to take head and abdomen measurements, but they wouldn't be still! It was pretty funny, but she did end up getting all the information she needed. The boys are growing at the right rate, and everything looks great! Sorry, I didn't get any good pictures of the ultrasound to post this time due to the boys' wiggliness. ;-)

Two "Peas" in a Pod
The Twins at almost 12 weeks:

Well, this is the first post about the twins, so I will give a little background for posterity's sake! ;-) A couple of months ago was our 12-year anniversary, and even though I had been charting my cycles to avoid "risky" times, we were not careful enough and I found out a few weeks later that I was unexpectedly expecting! According to my O.B. I was measuring fairly large for the dates I gave her, so she sent me in for an ultrasound, and we discovered that there were two babies! The ultrasound doctor said that he could tell that they were "monochorionic"...identical twins! This was a big shock, but obviously God was at work in the situation! Even though I am still on my epilepsy medication, my doctors have reassured me that the newer medications are much safer during pregnancy than the older ones. My O.B. has delivered 3 babies whose mothers were all on the same medication that I am on, and all the babies have been perfectly healthy! Also, I've had two ultrasounds, and everything looks great! We were a little concerned because the first ultrasound didn't show a membrane separating the babies, but the second ultrasound showed that it was there. So, the babies will be "protected" from getting tangled up in each other's umbilical cords by the membrane. This took me from a "high risk" to a "medium risk" category for my pregnancy. We have decided that, after this delivery, we are permanently done...I am making sure of that before I leave the hospital! Eric originally wanted six kids, and that's what we'll have!:-) Well, there is the summary of our newest news! We appreciate all prayers and thoughts sent our way!

Daniel's Birthday!
Sam let Dan use his big Tonka truck to load up his birthday presents and move them to the "gift opening area"! ;-) Our party was shorter than we had planned, since today was the only day I could schedule Sam and Dan's well-child check-ups at the clinic, so Dan got shots for his birthday...yay! Then, we had to go to the grocery store, so we got home later than expected. Eric is working 12 hour nights this week, so I had planned on having Dan's party after we got home, but before Eric left for work. However, we got back too late, and then Dan fell asleep while I was making preparations. I don't know if he was just tired from our outing or the shots or what, but he slept through until this evening! When he woke up, we helped him open his gifts, and he had fun playing for a little bit, and now it is time to get ready for bed! Things didn't really go as planned, but I guess it could have been worse! ;-)
