Becca had a fantastic birthday party! We want to extend our thanks to all who participated in her party, and to all those who sent her a gift!

Becca' Birthday Outfit
I just had to post this picture...isn't Becca cute in her new sweater dress? She is my girly girl, my princess, and prefers dresses and anything pink. Christy isn't so "girly" or "princessy", but I still love her for who she is! God made each of us unique, and we all have something that only we can give to the world.

Becca's Birthday!
We all had a great time celebrating Becca's birthday yesterday! Eric had to work a standard workday, but I let Becca take a day off of school, and we baked cupcakes, decorated the cupcakes (and the house! ;-), and had fun playing games. When Eric got home, Becca opened her gifts and loved everything that she got! Thanks to all the family for sending her gifts! Then, we decided to use the money that Becca's TX Grandparents had sent to buy a membership to "Underwater Adventures" at the Mall of America! She has been wanting to go for a long time, and now we can go as often as we please for a whole year! It was a fun evening of exploring and playing!

Sweet Becca
I was browsing through some pictures earlier today, and came across this one of Becca from a couple of months ago. It is a perfect representation of her sweet, pure spirit that I love so much! She has such a good heart, and a great love for God and her family. I am so thankful that she is my daughter, and that I get to enjoy her imaginative stories and Spirit-filled company every day! :-)

Becca's Birthday Bash!
Last night, we took Becca and the rest of the family to Chuck E. Cheese for a little birthday celebration! We all had a good time, and made it home right before the "blizzard" hit! Today, we are cozily stuck at home while the wind and snow swirl around outside. Thankfully, Eric has today off from work, so we are enjoying some "down time" with all of the kids as we continue to celebrate Becca's birthday. Plans for today include: French Toast for breakfast (check), open birthday gifts (check), lounge around in pajamas watching new movies that were just opened (check), not having to do school (check), making and decorating cupcakes for after lunch (pending), and doing whatever other activities the birthday girl might request (within reason). If only all days could be this much fun! ;-)

Daddy does the 'do...
...the hair-do, that is! ;-)
The girls have been asking to have their hair curled lately, but my ancient curling irons don't work so well anymore, and I haven't had the time or energy to really consider it. Then, we stumbled upon a sale for nice curling irons (50% off!), so we decided to buy one as an early Christmas gift for the girls.
I still had yet to remedy the time and energy problem, but my dear husband saved the day! He took it upon himself to curl the girls' hair, and he did a great job! I was so impressed, that I considered sending him to the Minnesota School of Beauty down the street to get his Stylist's license! ;-)
Here is Becca with her hair curled, and I will post Christy later.

Becca gets "Bathtized"
A little while ago, Becca was asking questions about communion, and why we had it as part of service. We explained to her about how the bread represents Jesus dying on the Cross to take the punishment for the wrong things we've done as it says in Romans 5:8 and the grape juice shows that Jesus was willing to shed his righteous blood to cleanse us from our sins and save us (Romans 5:9). After hearing these verses and remembering what she'd been taught in Sunday School, Becca said that she knew there were times she had disobeyed and done wrong things and she wanted to ask Jesus to forgive her and save her also. To show that she had put her faith in Jesus and prayed for His forgiveness, she asked if she could get "Bathtized" in front of the church. So, after the Sunday Evening Service, Becca was baptized!

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The Birthday Pout
Today, Becca officially turned six years old! But we have told her that she can't open ALL of her presents yet. She still has a friend party and a family party to go to where she will open most of her gifts. Here is what she looked like when we told her the discouraging news:

She did cheer up, however, after she found out what a few of her presents were! Also, today we made the day special and let her wear her pajamas all day, let her eat some special treats that she doesn't usually get, and we kept school "light" instead of our usual schedule. She got to watch the new movie that her Aunt Allie bought for her, and she had plenty of time to play with the few gifts that we did let her open. It's hard to save the really good gifts, but we still have Christmas coming up!
