The Country Life
Wow, it sure feels like autumn outside today! We enjoyed some time in our backyard, savoring the mild weather while it lasts. The chickens are happy and producing excellent eggs! We're so thankful for our country home, lots of space for the kids to explore, and all of the blessings in our life!!
Homegrown & Homemade!
Our pear trees are producing more pears than we can keep up with! So, I'm starting to experiment with different recipes that will use them up. This one was was a hit!!
Car Wash for Christ
Last Saturday, we offered a free car wash for all Northfield residents! We wanted to show them love in a practical, tangible way. We even wore "We Love Northfield" t-shirts! Our hope was, that by offering a needed service for free, we could open up conversations about Christ. We wanted people to know that we care not only about their physical needs, but their spiritual ones as well!
Zoo Fun!
Yesterday was a beautiful day to explore the Minnesota Zoo! We got to see the kangaroos before their exhibit is closed for the season, but they weren't very active. The weather has been cooler than normal for August. We're loving it, though!
Projects & Pirate Days
We had a great time with Jerry Dale Crafton while he was here! He was amazing at heading up some much-needed home maintenance projects such as installing a ventilation fan in the upstairs bathroom, sanding & re-finishing our deck, insulating a furnace duct leading to our bedroom, adding gutters & downspouts, and many other little jobs that make a big difference to our quality of life out here! We're so thankful for him!! It wasn't all work, though...we had fun playing games, enjoying Basil's pizza, goofing around at Cabela's, visiting the Pirate Festival in Owatonna, and getting the "best ice cream ever" at Russell Stover's!

School Books
Here are most of the books for our upcoming school year! I've only included books for my boys (grades 1-4), since my girls are set up for school on their computers. We're almost ready!
