Crafton Family Chicken Farm

The Crafton Family Chicken Farm is having a great start to the season! We butchered 363.8 pounds of chicken, our laying hens are back up to almost full daily egg production, the vegetable gardens are all planted, and the fruit trees & berry bushes are all blooming. Fresh rhubarb is ready, too!

14 Eggs

French toast a la carte. Eric's specialty!  This recipe is especially useful when we have an overabundance of eggs.

Sheep Sausage

Eric, Christy & Jackson helped some extended family butcher sheep a few months ago. We got some freezer packs of sheep sausage and fried it up today with potatoes and eggs. With our big family, we have to use a 14-inch skillet which barely fits on the stovetop. It's incredible! πŸ˜‹

Diligent Dan

Dan is up at Normandale celebrating with Becca at a post-performance party for a job well done!  I was impressed with how well he kept up with his schoolwork, despite getting home after 11:00 so many nights in a row.  One of the performances had an ASL interpreter, so that got him interested in teaching himself sign language.  What a guy!

Early Evening Eats

Busy evenings of theater practices and performances call for a super-fast, super-easy supper!

Thankfully, I found the perfect recipe to cook on one of our busiest nights!

Chickens in the Run

We let Sir Reginald II and the laying hens out to free-range today.  Then, we moved the broilers into a part of the run where the hens used to hang out.  Reggie and the girls raced back into the run and seemed to be saying, "Hey!  What are THEY doing in OUR space?!" πŸ˜‚
