White Christmas
Well, we got a white Christmas! ❤❄️๐ We're thrilled to have snow again, even if it arrived in blizzard form right when Eric had to drive in to work. All's well that ends well, and he's home safe & sound now. We didn't get Christmas cards out to everyone this year, so we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! ☃️
The Night Before Christmas
We have the gifts wrapped, but the biggest one is yet to be seen! We're ready for Christmas morning!
Dan's 11th Birthday
Dan is 11! We're about to start his birthday party. He is our inquisitive, studious & compassionate son - always ready to learn, and our biggest bookworm! He has a big heart, and we love him so much!!๐๐งก๐
Sam's 13th Birthday
Sam is 13! He's growing up to be a hard-working, responsible, and fun-loving guy! He really enjoys helping us take care of our land & animals. His favorite chore is wood chopping with his Dad! They have a great time together, and we've really appreciated having plenty of wood to keep our home warm & cozy. We're very thankful for a wonderful son who loves us so much! ❤

Becca's 18th Birthday
Becca is 18! She's a hard worker, and has been putting in a lot of hours at her job. We're planning a small family birthday party for her on Saturday, when everyone will be home. We're so thankful to have such an artistic, creative, sensitive & caring daughter! She is a blessing to us in so many ways! ❤️
Overlook
It was a beautiful evening for a walk! There's nothing better than enjoying fresh air & sunshine with my favorite conversationalist.๐ฉ❤️๐จ
Giving Thanks
Our turkey of "flamin' thanks"! ๐ Everyone pitched in and wrote a few things they're thankful for. Now, off to experiment on my family with some non-traditional recipes, since we can't have anyone over for Thanksgiving. It should be an interesting day! ๐
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

Rest after Harvest
It's always so peaceful to look out over the fields after our local friendly farmer has harvested all the crops. He even told us we could collect the corn that had fallen, and feed it to our chickens. What a great guy! :-D
Christy's Car
The Ol' Blazer is starting to show its age, so here's Christy's more reliable transportation for the winter. We had snow tires put on today, so she's all set! She loves it! ๐
Brunchy Munchy
Baked Surprise Pancake. Fourteen eggs, a whole lot of milk, honey, flour & lemon...cooked in a 15-inch frying pan in the oven. It's like a crossover between custard & lemon pie. The best brunch. We're in taste bud heaven!
Jack o' Lanterns
Each of our kids carved a Jack-o'-lantern for Halloween (some with stencils, some without), including a realistic caricature of that grumpy glow-toad, Bait! Now, on to candy and movies!๐๐ธ️๐ฆ

22 Years!
Today, Eric & I are celebrating 22 years of marriage! He has been spoiling me over the past few days, and he sure knows what I like. Lots of good food, hiking, his pleasant conversation, and cozy evenings have made our time together unforgettable!

Belated Blog Post
I forgot to post about the amazing autumn leef-peeping day we had a few weeks ago! It was such a gorgeous day, and the colors were so vibrant! It's all gone now, though. It always seems to go by so fast. I try to savor every season.
Boy-built House
Today Sam showed me the progress he has made with his "Little House in the Woods"! He, his brothers, and John have worked hard all summer & fall to turn this into the real thing. It even has electricity and heat! They have plans for shingles and siding. I'll get a picture of all of them inside, soon.❤️
Early Snow
When I went for a walk about an hour ago, we were up to 7"! The snow is still coming down at a rate of about 1-2" an hour. It's quite peaceful. The boys were playing in the other part of the yard, having a snowball fight. They're so excited! ❄️
Last Harvest
One last little harvest before the cold front arrives tomorrow night. Time to put the garden beds to rest for the season.๐

Fun with Carrots
We had some goofy fun with our carrot harvest yesterday! Some carrots grew well, others...not so much. ๐ We all agreed that fresh carrots smell AMAZING! Now, on to finding recipes to make good use of our bounty. ๐ฅ
Power & Peace
We had some pretty wild storms whip through here, but the day ended in a colorful sunset. Now, all is calm. Thankful for God's show of power and peace.
Egg Benefits
It's my favorite time of year again...baking season! The twins helped me make popovers this morning. This is half the batch. With 14 hens, we need to keep up on using the eggs!๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐
