Tom & Troy's 9th Birthday
Today was Tom & Troy's 9th birthday! We had such a fun day! The weather was hot, so perfect for a water gun/water balloon fight. Everyone got involved! We had pizza, cake (decorated Voltron style), and lots of ice cream. The twins loved all their birthday gifts! We're thankful to family & friends for making it a special day for our T'n'T dynamite duo!!๐งจ๐งจ
Growing Gardens
We've had much warmer weather than normal (for June) this year, and it has been a challenge to keep our gardens watered and happy. Everything seems to be doing fairly well, though! In this plot, we have corn, beans, peas, cabbage, greens, peppers, tomatoes, and sunflowers. We have another in-ground garden plot about this size filled with butternut squash, cucumbers, and zucchini. Our raised gardens are brimming with potatoes, carrots, onions, turnips, beets, radishes & culinary herbs. I foresee some good eatin' & cannin'! Here's one of the the gardens after a good soaking this evening:
Attending Church Safely
This past Sunday was our first in-person church service since mid-March. Things aren't the same as they were before, but we have hope for the future! It felt good to be back at church. Christy sewed masks for all of us, although Eric's mask was given to him by Medtronic. Becca was house sitting for some friends this past weekend, so she wasn't able to be in the picture. It was a beautiful day!
Home Haircuts
A week ago was "home haircut" day for the boys! What a learning experience. I cut Dan's first, and it ended up too short. I tried different techniques as I went along, and had it down pat by the 4th boy. At least they all have cooler cuts for such a hot day!

Preparation
We had to remove a tree on the south side today, since it was shading one of the gardens too much. We now have a much better view of the hills from our house! We also worked on other parts of the yard. Eric tilled in some composted chicken manure into one of our garden plots, and I just know the veggies are going to go nuts!๐
Free Ranging
Clucks & cats have been loving the pleasant weather! The rain is here now, but we sure need it. We always enjoy the cycles of weather and seasons!๐ท๐ง
Sunset Beauty
What a gorgeous evening for yardwork, weeding, and a relaxing stroll around the house! God painted an amazing sky tonight...
Woodstove
Just a few more finishing touches to go, and our "cozy corner" is complete! My hard-working hubby sure knows how to spoil me!๐ฅ๐
