Blizzard Hazard & Stranded in Rochester
What a weekend! Eric & I left Friday afternoon to attend the MACHE Convention in Rochester. We planned on staying overnight Friday, then coming home after the Saturday workshops. About mid-afternoon, the winter storm was upgraded to a blizzard! After the last workshop, there was an announcement that all northbound roads were covered in ice, and some roads had been closed. So, we decided to stay in Rochester for another night. Most shops were closed, but we had a lot of fun walking the miles and miles of skyways! There weren't many options for dining, so we got to try out some places that we normally wouldn't have tried. We had fun exploring and making the most of the situation! Grandma Becky was taking care of our kids, so we knew we didn't have to worry about being gone so long. We're so thankful she was here! God provided, and everything worked out! We've lived in Minnesota for almost 17 years now, and this is the first time we've actually been "stranded" somewhere because of the weather! We're home safe now, but what a memorable event!
