Memorial Day

Today is a day to remember all of the men and women who have fought and died for our Nation's freedom. So, the girls and Sam dressed up in patriotic red, white, and blue.

Ice Cold Water on a Hot Day

Well, it finally showed signs of Summer last week when it got up to 90 degrees. The kids were hot so we broke out Sam's "Elmo Toddler Water Park". They certainly had A LOT of FUN, but we all soon found out that though the temperature above ground was over 90, the below ground water still thought it was winter, because it was ~~FREEZING~~. Sam was even shivering when we took him inside. All in all, the Elmo mat had a few minor flaws but was still a good 5 bucks worth for me and the whole family.

As you can see, the COLD water caught Sam a little off-guard

Becca gets "Bathtized"

A little while ago, Becca was asking questions about communion, and why we had it as part of service. We explained to her about how the bread represents Jesus dying on the Cross to take the punishment for the wrong things we've done as it says in Romans 5:8 and the grape juice shows that Jesus was willing to shed his righteous blood to cleanse us from our sins and save us (Romans 5:9). After hearing these verses and remembering what she'd been taught in Sunday School, Becca said that she knew there were times she had disobeyed and done wrong things and she wanted to ask Jesus to forgive her and save her also. To show that she had put her faith in Jesus and prayed for His forgiveness, she asked if she could get "Bathtized" in front of the church. So, after the Sunday Evening Service, Becca was baptized!

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

One Less Tooth to Brush

I lost my tooth 2 nights ago [May 9,2009]. It really hurt when dad pulled my tooth out with a pair of pliers. But after that I was fine. It bled a little. But after that I looked in the mirror, and there was a hole in my mouth! And here's a picture of the hole. -Christy

Becca's Dream

Becca always talks about how she would like to have many children when she grows up. Yesterday, she illustrated her desire, and included her little brother in the line-up! ;-)

One Less Dish to Wash

I always knew that our little guy was pretty strong and his reach was getting longer. But everybody was shocked when Samuel got a hold of Daddy's spoon! A couple of well placed strikes later and the rest is, as they say, "history."

Service to Our Country

Today is Veteran's Day, and it brings back memories of when Eric & I met while we were serving our country at Misawa Air Base, Japan...
