Wedding 2020
The boys were part of a very special wedding today! The twins were ring bearers, and Sam & Dan were ushers. They loved dressing up, and we all enjoyed the beautiful ceremony.💜
Slippin' and Slidin'
Happy Independence Day! We've had a great day! It's hot, so Eric created a giant slip 'n' slide out of plastic sheeting/dropcloth, water hoses & dish soap. The kids love it! We've also been enjoying BBQ, homemade ice cream & watermelon. Eric is going to put on a grand fireworks show as soon as it gets dark.
Fun memories for everyone!
Berry Harvest Season
Next up in our "Berry of the Month" club: wild raspberries! A few are ripe, and lots more on the way!💜❤️💜
Pulling Weeds
I pulled up an army of giant ragweed on the edge of the south field this morning. Less ragweed = less allergy problems in the fall!
Preserves
We've harvested about 6 pounds of mulberries over the past few days! We've eaten them fresh, put them on ice cream, blended them in milkshakes, and today we made mulberry preserves. So tasty!
Pine Forest Hideaway
The boys cleared out the lower branches in our pine forest, and created a cool hideaway! It feels like a shady camp. They have a few more plans for their new place, and might even set up a tent. They've named it the "Den Hollow".
Mulberries
Mulberries! We have quite a few bushes/trees growing in our "wild woods". Summer is the season for fresh, healthy, all-day snacking.
Father's Day 2020
Happy Father's Day to the best husband and father we could ask for! Eric spent his special weekend butchering chickens, with help from some of the kids (I don't care to participate in this particular aspect of chicken farming). We now have about 225 pounds of meat in the freezers, and he'll butcher the second half next weekend. He also did a lot of yard work, cooked up some scrumptious meals, and always with a smile! He takes such good care of us! He is the finest example of servant leadership, shining the light of Jesus for all of us to see!💓
